The Day I Saw God

My days at college, I suppose, were the hardest days I met with in my life. One day, after having had a wholly bitter day without much stuff in my bowels, I felt very much exhausted. To let the following daybreak as well to follow suit was too hard to think of. So I thought it expedient to borrow ten rupees from a friend of mine staying in the nearby hostel. It was around 8.30 pm. At the entrance of the hostel the very thought of my having no visible source to repay the sum began to prick me from within and pull me from behind. I succumbed to the delicacy of the situation and I traced back my steps. On being back to my dwelling, the thought of having no means for the next day and the air from within the bowels concertedly began to intensify their onslaughts on me. I again set out with a two-celled torch borrowed from a friend to meet another friend to borrow money. But the very same Satan that pricked me from within and pulled me from behind on the previous occasion still made me still. Hopelessly I retreated. On just crossing the volley-ball ground of the Training College enroute my way, it occurred to me that I had crossed something that looked like a currency note that lay on the ground. I traced back my steps and focussed the feeble light of the torch against that object. Hurrah! It was a ten-rupee note! Without giving any regard to the ethics that it actually belonged to someone else, I returned to my dwelling with the belief that it was none other than God Himself that appeared before me in the guise of a ten-rupee note.
